Intersting!
Generation S.
Nobody can really predict the future. But revolutions, also digital ones, do not come from out of thin air. There are always signals. Sometimes loud and clear. More often, small vibrations at the outer end of the spectrum. The app hype is over, social is mainstream and a new generation shapes the mobile internet. A generation with the S from screens, swipes, and smartphones. Born around the millennium year 2000, when the Swedish company Ericsson, coined the term ‘smartphone’ for the first time to bring a mobile phone to the market. Generation S are truly ‘mobile’ natives, who have never known the world without mobile interactive screens. For them, it is obvious that information, entertainment, and social interaction fits in the palm of their hand. Swipes and taps are a kind of muscle memory. With their thumb, they determine what is hot and what is not. Generation S thinks in GIFs and emoji’s. Mobile is their mother tongue, a language that they themselves shape.
